​Hot, well-balanced meals served M-F at five ​SENIOR CENTERS ​located throughout Tangipahoa Parish with activities such as Bingo, Computer and Art Classes, exercise at some Centers, socialization, fun, companionship and  information and assistance.

Home Delivered Meals

​Five nutritious frozen meals delivered weekly to homebound residents with milk and bread every other week. Although there is no charge for the meals, donations are welcomed and appreciated.   Special diet meals may be purchased at $6.75/meal.


​M-F to Senior Centers, doctor and other appointments, pharmacy and grocery stores and other locations within Tangipahoa Parish at no cost to 60 years old and older (donations appreciated).  General Public Transportation is also provided to anyone, any age for a fee of $9/one-way trip for anyone under age 60.  All service must be scheduled 24 hours in advance on a first come, first served basis, by calling



​Light housekeeping is provided once or twice per month to the most frail individuals in their immediate living area.  Services generally include bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen.  Some restrictions apply.

Other Services

  • ​Caregiver Support Service is available to individuals 60+ years old who are caring for an elderly loved one. 
  • ​Medical Alert Units are available for a fee through a partnership with Acadian Ambulance Service.
  • Information and Assistance is provided through contact with other more appropriate agencies for specific needs. 
  • ​Outreach is conducted to ensure all residents of Tangipahoa Parish are aware of the services offered by the Council on Aging.​​
